Preventative Hygiene

We will provide you with personalized dental care dependent on your needs. A dental hygiene appointment consists of diagnostic x-rays, exam of your teeth and gums, scaling for removal of calcified deposits (tartar) from your teeth, polishing for removal of stain and plaque, and a fluoride treatment. The frequency of a dental cleaning depends on your individual needs, which will be decided upon with the dentist, the dental hygienist, and yourself.

First Visit Free - Under 3!

At true north Dental Centre, we realize the importance of early detection of any dental problems your child may have. We stress the importance of dental care, even at an early age. Schedule an appointment for your child before the age of 3 and one of our dentists will examine their teeth and give you guidance on how to best care for their young mouths and their individual needs.

Restorative Dentistry

At true north Dental Centre, we provide our patients with the most up-to-date procedures and use the best materials available on the market. We will use the material that is best suited for every situation. We use composite or “white” filling material, as well as amalgam or “silver fillings” material. We will discuss with you the best option depending on esthetics and longevity of a filling.

In Office / Take Home Whitening

Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces. It cannot make a complete colour change; but it will lighten the existing shade of natural teeth. At true north Dental Centre we use the polanight Whitening System. With this system, you are made custom trays that are fit specifically for your mouth, and you do the bleaching in your own home.

Root Canal

Root canal treatment is needed when the nerve supply of the tooth is infected through decay or injury. You may not feel any pain in the early stages of the infection. In some cases your tooth could darken in colour, which may mean that the nerve of the tooth is dying or has died. This is when root canal treatment is necessary. A root canal does not normally hurt. It is very similar to a filling appointment, only takes a little more time as more of the tooth is being “filled” or restored.

All of our Dentists at true north Dental Centre will be happy to help you if you require a denture to replace missing teeth. It takes a number of short appointments, but after this initial investment of time you will be very happy with the results to obtain a new smile.

Oral Surgery

When we can, we will work with you to allow you to keep your teeth as much as possible. However, if you have a tooth that needs to come out we will make every effort to make you comfortable during this procedure. Many of our procedures can be completed right in the office; however, if we suspect any complications you will be referred to an oral surgeon.

Periodontal Surgery

The dentists here at true north Dental Centre, are not only concerned with your teeth. That is why we also offer various procedures for your gums as well. Whether you may require crown lengthening, pocket reduction or a gingival graft, we will provide you with the best possible care.

Crowns / Veneers / Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are an excellent way to restore misaligned teeth, repair broken teeth, and make your teeth resistant to future damage associated with daily function. The purpose of crown and bridge work is not only to make your smile more complete, they are regularly used to repair fractured teeth, severely decayed teeth, or damage due to trauma. They are fixed options, meaning something that remains in your mouth like your own natural teeth. Crowns and veneers are used to repair single teeth, where a bridge is a larger unit that is often used to replace missing teeth. Ask one of our staff for more details on how this option is right for you.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are surgical-grade root devices that support permanent tooth prosthetics that are manufactured to last a lifetime. These artificial roots are anchored in the bone beneath the gums where they become fused to the jaw. A crown or bridge is then mounted atop the implant for a long lasting and natural smile.

Many dentists and patients prefer dental implants because they offer the same function as natural teeth and also help prevent bone atrophy in the jaw.

Dental implants may be used to replace a single missing or damaged tooth or to restore an entire smile.
